Biography
Chris is an award winning mixed media artist, holds a BA Fine Art (Painting) and has been exhibiting nationally and internationally since the 1980s.
STATEMENT
My work explores people, the way we are and our relationships to the environments we inhabit throughout time.
Combining collage with a variety of compatible professional mediums has been an enduring challenge and journey since the late 1980s.
Over the years my works, informed by life's experiences, have gradually become more complex and mulitlayered.
My people gather and wonder in environments of unknown composites, actual and imagined.
They confer, wait and search to understand themselves, each other and their worlds.
Perspectives are altered, time and place are different. An echo of life? What is actually real.
My works contain overt and covert text, where sentebces start, are they ever finished?
My works are the imagery for the viewer’s story, the more you look, the more you see.
